Designers-United

Last week I went to the Breeze of Summer fashion show organised by Designers-United which I was invited to. This show contained outfits from young designers Charlotte Kan, Satara and Daisy Kroon (which I already introduced you to in an earlier post).
I wasn´t impressed by all the clothes shown this evening, but there were a few amazing individual items (like the navy colored, short sleeved hooded coat) that I definately would have bought in the special 10% sale afterwards if I did not save myself from being unable to pay my rent this month by not bringing my credit card.. ;)

From Rotterdam with love

One of Rotterdam’s nicest export products is the ‘Mode Marché’. After six editions in Rotterdam, this fashion event moved to Amsterdam for a special edition at the Fashion Week venue. The best place to introduce this stock sample sale (where you can find creations of young but also well-known dutch fashion designers) to the Amsterdam fashion crowd.

Also in Amsterdam the vibe was amazing. Besides lots of nice clothes, bags and jewellery, also very fashionably people to spot! My fav find of the day was my big tee from young dutch fashion designer Daisy Kroon.

After she graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam she was chosen to show her collection at ‘Lichting 2007’ (a Fashion Week show in which a few great designers from fashion academies all around The Netherlands get to participate). This helped Daisy to become who she is now: a respected young designer who did several exhibitions, publications in magazines such as the dutch Elle and Avant Garde and has more and more stockists. Humor is very important to Daisy Kroon. She uses it in a majority of her designs. Also she never makes clothes that are 100% feminine or pretty. She prefers edgy and masculine elements.

I definately love her spring/summer collection with these pastel color palette. What about you? Check out Daisy Kroon at www.daisykroon.com or www.designers-united.com

Me happy, wallet not so happy

Last week I bumped into the Friends & Family sale night at American Apparel while I was heading the supermarket around the corner. I only ate soup and bread that night..
