Stil in Berlin

These are some people that I saw walking around in Berlin at Bread & Butter. No extravagant things, but still inspiring. Take a close look at the girl on the black & white shot. Love her hand gloves!!

Weird but great photography!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin part I

Front row @ Perret Schaad. Great example of German fashion talent(s). These two girls (Johanna Perret and Tutia Schaad) showed at Berlin Fashion Week for the first time and it was very successful. Their F/W collection tells a story about attitude and contrast, which shows through the materials and cuts that are very strong and feminine, but with a twist. Great choice of colours and great styling too. Loved the wools, the silk and the look of the leather skirt, eventhough the model couldn't walk because it was so tight :). Let me give you a short impression:

Radiation Invasion

One of my favourite designers in The Netherlands is Iris van Herpen. She's still in her twenties but her career is already full of succes. Last year she showed her amazing collection 'Radiaton Invasion' in London and a lot of people named the show 'The best of London Fashion Week'. Her style is very original and avant garde, but still beautiful and feminine. She made her trade mark out of using abstract shapes and unusual materials.

Besides very talented, Iris is also a very kind and humble person. I interviewed her for APE. You can read it here! Photo credits: Michel Zoeter

Art or fashion... or art

A few days ago I visited the expo 'The Art of Fashion' at the dutch museum Boijmans van Beuningen. Here you can see work from Naomi Filmer, Viktor & Rolf, Hussein Challayan, Anna-Nicole Ziesche and Walter van Beirendonck. They completely let go of the idea of wearable designs and went looking for the boarders between fashion and art. The exhibition also shows work from Martin Margiela and Nick Cave. It was def worth the half our walk through the rain ;)
